About Example Online Academy Platform

Cinematic learning, made by working professionals.

Example Online Academy Platform is a marketplace for craft-based courses — built for teachers who'd rather teach than fight a clunky LMS, and for students who want courses that respect their time.

Why we exist

Most online learning platforms make money in one of two ways. Either they charge teachers a heavy monthly subscription whether their courses sell or not — pricing out anyone just starting. Or they take 50–70% of every sale, treating instructors like contestants instead of partners.

We thought there was room for something simpler. Instructors keep 70% of every sale. No monthly fee. The platform handles hosting, payments, compliance, and discovery — but we only earn when a teacher earns. Aligned incentives.

We don't want to be the biggest course marketplace. We want to be the one teachers brag about working with, and the one students finish what they buy from.

What we believe

🎬 Format matters

Slides, video, and interaction beat 4-hour lecture videos. Courses should feel like a guided walkthrough, not a TV binge.

🤝 Teachers > platform

The teacher's name goes on the course. Their craft, their voice, their reputation. We're the venue, not the headliner.

🚫 No upsells

You buy a course, you own it. No "premium tier", no sneaky add-ons, no email sequences trying to sell you the next thing.

📈 Open analytics

Teachers see what students see — drop-off slides, completion rates, the works. So they can make their next course better.

💸 Transparent splits

The exact commission is published, the exact payout schedule is published, the refund policy is published. No "contact sales".

🛠 Open at the seams

JSON API, webhooks, full data export, native mobile-friendly. If you outgrow us, you take everything with you.

Where we're headed

Right now we're focused on the basics being excellent: better course tooling for teachers, smoother checkout for students, faster payouts, more honest analytics. The fancy stuff (live cohorts, certifications, group accounts, AI co-teachers) comes after the foundations are rock solid.

If you're a teacher with a craft worth teaching — apply to teach. If you're a student looking for something specific — browse the catalog. If you have feedback — reply to any email we send. Every one of them lands in a real human's inbox.
